For 15-year-old Robdu, pursuing her education—let alone her dream of becoming a teacher–was an uphill battle. Without private restrooms or safe drinking water at her school, she had to leave class just to find basic resources. Mornings were no easier—she and her mother spent an hour walking to fetch water from a spring, only to return home with water that often made her family sick. These daily struggles frequently made her late for school and disrupted her learning.
In 2022, everything changed. Water for Good provided her school with private, safe restrooms and brought a reliable water source to her community. Now, Robdu can stay in class all day, and her family no longer spends hours searching for water each morning.
With these resources, Robdu can finally focus on her studies and take steps toward a career. “I finally have the chance to pursue my education without worrying about water or restrooms,” she shared.
Clean water and hygiene are about more than just basic needs—they create opportunities for girls like Robdu to thrive and build brighter futures.
