How Safe Water Transformed a Child, a Home, and an Entire Community
In the quiet village of Dadhota in the Kokosa region, where the morning mist settles gently over the hills, five-year-old Sena once woke to a pain no child should experience. The team spent time with families, teaching them how to protect their children through simple, life-saving habits: washing hands with soap, storing water safely, keeping compounds clean, and using toilets properly. With the Seven Healthy Home components implemented in her village: safe drinking water, safe water storage, an improved latrine with dignity, two proper handwashing devices with soap, a drying rack, a clean compound, and a bathing shelter guiding their daily routine, Sena’s family has shaped a home where children thrive, sickness is no longer a common threat, and hope springs eternal.
Across the village, this transformation echoes from house to house. Streets once shadowed by illness now ring with children’s laughter. Mothers gather at safe water points with lighter hearts. Compounds are clean and safe. Families work side by side, building a community that reflects health, dignity, and shared faith. It is a quiet but powerful picture of God’s love expressed through practical action, safe water, healthy homes, and a community that cares for one another.
“We were in darkness before,” her mother says, her gratitude unmistakable. “Now we have safe water, knowledge, and hope. May God bless this work that brings life to our children.”
